Electrical Work Shouldn't Be an Afterthought

Because we're a building company with electricians on the payroll rather than an electrician who occasionally does building work, wiring is planned in from the start of every project — not squeezed in at the end.

Whether you need a full rewire on an older Kent property, a consumer unit upgrade, or new circuits for a kitchen extension, our electricians work to the 18th Edition wiring regulations and issue the correct certification for every job.

A full rewire was carried out as part of our recent complete renovation of a Whitstable terrace house — new circuits, consumer unit and underfloor heating controls throughout the property, alongside the plumbing and structural work. It's the same standard of electrical work we bring to standalone rewires and smaller jobs.

We also carry out EICRs (Electrical Installation Condition Reports) for landlords and homeowners who need to confirm the safety of an existing installation — increasingly a legal requirement for rented property in England.

Electricians & Rewires, Done Properly

Full & Partial Rewires

Properties built or last rewired more than 25–30 years ago are the most common candidates. We can rewire an occupied house in stages, or a vacant one in a single continuous job.

  • Staged rewires for occupied homes
  • New consumer unit with RCBO protection
  • Certification issued on completion

EICRs & Landlord Compliance

An Electrical Installation Condition Report identifies faults and dangerous wiring before they cause a problem — required by law for private rented property in England every 5 years.

  • EICR testing and reporting
  • Remedial work quoted and carried out
  • Support with landlord compliance paperwork

New Circuits & Extensions

Kitchen extensions, loft conversions and garden rooms all need new circuits planned properly, not bodged off an existing spur.

  • First and second fix wiring for extensions
  • Dedicated circuits for kitchens and utility rooms
  • Outdoor and garden power

General Electrical Work

Not every job is a full rewire — we also handle the smaller, everyday electrical work that keeps a house running properly.

  • Additional sockets and lighting circuits
  • Consumer unit upgrades
  • Fault-finding and repairs

A Full Rewire, Start to Finish

The complete rewire mentioned above was carried out as part of our recent full renovation of a Victorian terrace in Whitstable, alongside new plumbing and underfloor heating.

Our Process

Assessment

We inspect the existing installation (or, for a new build/extension, the drawings) to scope exactly what’s needed.

Quote & Certification Plan

You get a clear, written quote and know upfront what certification (EIC, EICR, Minor Works) the job will produce.

Work Carried Out

Wiring is installed or replaced to 18th Edition standards, with as little disruption to the rest of the house as the job allows.

Testing & Certification

Every job is tested before we leave, and you receive the correct certificate for your records or for Building Control.

Frequently Asked Questions

How do I know if my house needs rewiring?

Warning signs include fuse boxes with a wooden back or cast-iron switches, round-pin sockets, black rather than modern grey/white cabling, or an installation that hasn’t been checked in over 20 years. An EICR will confirm exactly what condition the wiring is in.

How long does a full rewire take?

A full rewire on an average 3-bedroom house typically takes 1–2 weeks if the property is empty, longer if we’re working around you living there, since we sequence it room by room.

Do landlords legally need an EICR?

Yes — private landlords in England must have a valid EICR for every rented property, renewed at least every 5 years, and provide a copy to tenants and the local authority on request.

Can you add circuits for an extension we’re not building ourselves?

Yes, we regularly carry out the electrical fit-out for extensions and loft conversions built by other contractors, as well as our own.
